Dr. Charles Crowell, Dr. Jarek Nabrzyski, Mitch Kajzer, and student Ana Miravete presented at the inaugural South Coast Cyber Summit in Beaufort, SC (pictured above). Their presentation, entitled "A Multi-Pronged Cyber Crime Initiative," featured the collaboration between the CDT Program, the Center for Research Computing, and the St. Joseph County Cyber Crimes Unit. In this program, Notre Dame students are sworn in as law enforcement officers and conduct digital forensic examinations on active law enforcement cases in Northern Indiana. This model has been so successful that the State of Indiana recently appropriated $3 million dollars annually to fund 10 similar units through the state.
